May 28, 2008 | Leave a Comment
I know, I didn’t realize how much time had passed since I’d been here. I have some computer issues with this site…so posting is annoying, but also, a lot has happened. Since I last stopped by, I’ve joined 2 more stores and have kicked the designing into high gear and so have been crazy busy! You can visit me over at my design blog to see everything I’ve been up to and update your freebie collection.
I am planning on moving this and the main photo collage site soon, lots more work to do over the summer! We’ve got a big family vacation coming up though in two week, I cannot wait!!!

Tell Me Thursday about The Finer Things
April 10, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Since Wednesday is Wordless, Thursday I get to tell you all about it…so what was yesterday’s Wordless Wednesday all about…
A digital scrapbooking layout of my friend’s daughter on their trip to Europe last summer. She was enjoying the finer things in life…pastries in a cafe in Venice with some wine…ok so actually the OJ was hers, window shopping, feeding the pigeons in St Mark’s Square and of course, a Gondola ride. The page kit I used to scrap this layout was Tattered Lilly from Scrappin Nut Designs.

Learn to Video Scrapbook
March 29, 2008 | Leave a Comment
With most digital cameras offering a video option, sometimes only 30 seconds, sometimes as much as your memory card will hold…more and more people are wanting to create moving memories. Growing up we always had a video camera…the Super8 when we were really little and then a Sony Camcorder with those 8mm tapes…now my parents have a Hard Drive Camera…NICE. Hubby and I bought a camera when we got married and used it for a few trips we took, but in all honestly, I have not even picked the thing up since then…not one video of my children at all…other than the short ones on the digital camera. Those video cameras were a pain to lug around and then transfer to something you could actually watch, edit, etc…it was a lot of work. With my digital camera, I can make video as long as I want and watch them right away on the computer and I can…with some fun software even make video compilations, add photos in between and make a real video. Burn it to a DVD and watch it on the tv. Very cool. Who needs a video camera right?
Whatever way you choose to make videos…using your digi cam or a real video camera…videos are so much more entertaining to watch than just pictures aren’t they? Does it seem scary, the thought of trying to figure it all out? There is help, Scrapbooks Alive is a website devoted to helping the video scrapbooking enthusiast learn to create wonderful videos to share with family and friends. Tips, tricks, tutorials, it has the works. Check out scrapbooks alive and learn a whole new approach to scrapbooking your families memories!

How Fast They Grow
March 26, 2008 | Leave a Comment
So, if you’re anything like me, you have a TON of photos of the kids, gotta love those digital cameras…but those precious baby books, the ones you were so determined to get ton for each child as a special memento of their first few years…are in various states of…not doneness. I know I am right. I make photo collages for a living, I design digital scrapbook kits…I deal with photos all day long…and yet, honestly…neither my almost 5 years old or my 2 year old really have a baby scrapbook. Oh I have pages done, lots, but they are all sitting on my computer, and most are pretty recent. Being on a few creative teams for other designers got me a good jump start on those albums. So I can imagine how far behind in the childhood memories someone who isn’t as, digitally obscessed let’s say, as me would be.
In steps How Fast They Grow, a site for those of us who are a little challenged inactually getting the books together and into print. This site uses premade template and some innovative software to make creating a baby scrapbook a snap. It’s drag and drop at it’s best. They provide an assortment of pre-made pages you just drop your photos into. The templates are really gorgeous too, this isn’t cheesy scrapbooking. It’s modern and stunning.
It’s not cheap…printing those pages can cost a pretty penny, but your pages is made, no thinking about how to design it, finding the time and right materials, digital or traditional to get it done. So maybe saving all that time and creating a book in less than an hour is worth the price. The pages then drop into a standard 12×12 scrapbook album.
How Fast They Grow is definately worth a looksee if you are as far behind…or never started, those baby albums and your kids are entering kindgarten in September!!!
